What is Eastern Electronic Festival
Welcome to Eastern Electronic Festival 2012
The award winning Shaanti are proud to present the Eastern Electronic Festival 2012, which explores the divide between New Music and Art made by contemporary British-Asian artist.
First launched in Feb 2011 Birmingham, the festival introduces international and local platforms of creative exchange between artists and producers of both musical and multimedia art currents; which are promoted via a variety of new approaches.
From 19th November to 24th November 2012, events will feast indoor and outdoor venues running late into the night. Hosted in various concerts, workshops and lectures in Birmingham, the festival presents modern approaches made by artists who draw on un-traditional methods. We also introduce a number of exciting unique platforms to promote electronic and commercial new music made by South Asians, taking it out of its isolated niche.
We aim to showcase some of the huge arts talent in the region, as well as bringing in new and awe-inspiring leaders from further afield: to really put Birmingham on the arts and culture map. We anticipate the festival will provide an invaluable platform for emerging artists, amplify 21st century ideas regarding British South Asian inter-city culture, celebrate heritage and become a focal point of community pride.
